Lead Android Developer at Aura Apps (from Unity)

Location: Hybrid role in Warsaw, Poland, with three days per week in the Warsaw office from Wednesday to Friday.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow Android developers and QA/AQA engineers through one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career planning.
• Shape technical direction, define coding and quality standards, evaluate architecture options, and conduct code reviews.
• Contribute hands-on to critical features and complex technical challenges for a content discovery platform used across 330M devices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams on sprint planning, estimation, priorities, and delivery commitments.
• Track progress using Agile/Scrum metrics, balance technical debt with feature development, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• More than 6 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years of native Android application development.
• Proven experience building and scaling high-performing teams and leading development teams with Agile/Scrum; 2+ years of technical people management experience is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development practices, including Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and reactive programming.
• Proficiency with MV* patterns including MVVM and MVI, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles.
• Strong understanding of Android internals, app lifecycle, performance optimization, multi-module architecture, and dependency injection.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, build variants, product flavors, and build configuration.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with system-level apps or privileged APIs.
• Background in mobile security, app hardening, or compliance requirements.
• Experience with large-scale apps serving more than 1M users.
