Lead AI Enablement Technology

What you will do

• Own operational performance across HPC and scientific compute, AI inference and serving, agentic foundations, AI-assisted engineering, and R&D AI upskilling.
• Lead area managers and specialists across HPC, scientific AI inference, and engineering AI.
• Set the AI infrastructure roadmap, including model serving, inference optimization, guardrails, vector databases, and evaluation harnesses.
• Manage GPU procurement, HPC investments, cluster lifecycles, vendor relationships, and technology partnerships.
• Define shared APIs, cost attribution models, scientific-computing patterns, architecture decisions, and infrastructure KPIs.
• Build AI capability programmes covering platform usage, best practices, responsible AI, and safe operation at scale.

Requirements

• Expert-level depth in AI infrastructure and MLOps, including model serving at scale, inference optimization, vector databases, and LLM-adjacent tooling.
• Strong scientific HPC experience, including Slurm, GPU scheduling, and scientific-computing workflows.
• Experience leading specialist engineering teams, hiring senior or staff engineers, and scaling high-performing teams in fast-growing or matrix environments.
• Hands-on ability to read code, review architectures, evaluate tools, and work with ML platforms such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, Ray, or equivalent.
• Experience designing and implementing AI safety frameworks, including red-teaming, adversarial testing, prompt-injection testing, and model performance evaluation at scale.
• Experience with technology strategy, architecture decision records, design documentation, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational transformation.
• Experience managing technology budgets, capital expenditure planning, infrastructure cost optimization, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and integration.
• Exceptional communication skills for explaining complex AI infrastructure to executives and engineers, together with a metrics-driven approach to utilization, cost efficiency, and reliability.
• Familiarity with responsible AI governance, compliance requirements, and AI safety and ethics practices.
