Customs Compliance Specialist

Location: Älmhult, Sweden; hybrid, with the majority of working time expected from the office.

hirify.global’s Customs Operations Europe and Africa region supports import and export processes, customs compliance, goods flow, legal requirements, and IT solutions across more than 30 countries.

What you will do

• Establish and maintain customs compliance procedures and working methods with the Customs Compliance Manager.
• Lead and coordinate tariff classification activities, ensuring accurate classification, compliance, and alignment with business needs.
• Manage and support post-entry corrections, free trade agreements, bonded solutions, and other customs special procedures.
• Lead or support customs compliance reviews, internal assessments, external audits, controls, risk mitigation, and corrective action plans.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners, including customs and government authorities, and collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Transport, and Purchasing.
• Support business expansion and customs-related projects while maintaining regulatory knowledge and operational readiness.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of customs import/export regulations and compliance management.
• Strong practical knowledge of customs valuation, rules of origin, Free Trade Agreements, customs special procedures, compliance controls, audits, and investigations.
• Solid practical experience with customs classification, tariff classification processes, customs regulations, and classification data maintenance.
• Experience and knowledge of Change Management.
• Previous experience working with external authorities.
• Comfort navigating digital IT solutions; ability to document and communicate clearly, prioritize work, analyze details while maintaining a broader perspective, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to build efficiency and compliance into operations, facilitate and train others, and establish trusted relationships with stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and verbal, is required.
