Senior Go Engineer

Location: Fully remote; candidates may be based in Poland, other EU countries, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Armenia, or Georgia. Working time zone: CET.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go backend services and product features.
• Drive technical research, architecture design, and implementation for high-load distributed systems.
• Clarify ambiguous requirements, define metrics, address concurrency and edge cases, and explain technical trade-offs.
• Collaborate across teams, participate in architectural discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Own service delivery, production monitoring, maintenance, observability, and agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production backend engineering experience and complex product development.
• Strong Go expertise, including concurrency, synchronization, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown.
• Experience with high-load distributed systems and microservice architecture.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills, including schema design, joins, indexes, query analysis, replication, partitioning, and sharding.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and Redis caching strategies.
• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication using gRPC and message brokers, including delivery guarantees and idempotency.
• Knowledge of observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and Go profiling.
• Understanding of NFRs, SLA/SLO/SLI, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code and use unit/integration testing, Git, and code review workflows; ability to explain project architecture and business problems in depth.

Nice to have

• Event-driven architecture experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or Pulumi.
• Performance profiling and optimization of Go services.
• Familiarity with Figma, cross-platform collaboration, and AI-assisted development tools.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time engagement planned for 3 months this year and 3 months next year.
• B2B contract with hirify.global, using one contract and one monthly invoice.
• Payment is made monthly, usually within 30 days, on the same schedule as the client payment; the rate is negotiated based on seniority and client budget.
• The contract is written under the candidate's country law, with client-side MSA, NDA, and invoicing handled by hirify.global.

Hiring process

• Complete a 15-minute English check and an internal technical interview lasting 1–1.5 hours.
• Complete client interviews covering technical skills, live coding, and cultural fit; the cultural-fit interview lasts 45 minutes.
