Senior Software Engineer (Data Engineering)

Location: 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716, United States; onsite

Salary: $129,314–$180,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead assigned engineering projects, including planning, solution reviews, design reviews, code reviews, delivery, and hand-offs.
• Build and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines, backend APIs, analytical dashboards, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Lead discovery and high-level design for medium to large projects in partnership with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions, write and test code, troubleshoot bugs and production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide technical guidance, support business users, build stakeholder relationships, and lead cross-functional collaboration across geographies and time zones.
• Monitor progress, improve business solutions, and adapt delivery plans to changing organizational needs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of software engineering or related experience; or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of these fields plus 5 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience engineering, building, and monitoring real-time and batch data pipelines using Spark, Scala, Java, Python, Kafka, Airflow, and Hive.
• Experience creating backend RESTful APIs for saving or retrieving database data using technologies such as Python, Scala, and MySQL.
• Experience with cloud computing, Tableau and QlikView dashboards, PL/SQL querying, Oracle, and BigQuery.
• Experience designing and developing user interfaces using UI design principles and frontend technologies including JavaScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS.
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable infrastructure.
• Experience with production deployment and change management using ServiceNow, and code-base monitoring and versioning using GitHub, Concord, and SVN.
• Experience coordinating with teams across geographies and time zones toward a common software deliverable, and managing resources and time using ecosystems such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Any amount of experience with the required skills will be accepted.
