What you will do

• Design and deliver technical components as part of larger data solutions, integrating them with solution and customer architecture.
• Implement functional and non-functional designs and agree technical decisions, effort, implications, and complexity with customer architects.
• Set technical standards, support engineers in upholding them, and manage delivery timelines and estimates.
• Contribute to or own technical solution design during pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to the data analysis community and wider data and analytics capability.
• Manage, coach, and develop a small team, including performance management and career development.

Requirements

• Experience owning a technical component, subsystem, or product such as data ingestion or data streaming, including architecture, estimation, product planning, and story creation.
• Proficient in client interaction and communicating technical decisions to non-technical audiences.
• Experience applying design patterns, development style guides, and operational-readiness standards covering automation and deployment.
• Experience designing, building, and productionising modern, distributed, data-intensive applications.
• Experience with Java, Scala, or Python and comfort with functional and object-oriented programming paradigms.
• Experience deploying contemporary data stores, including object, document, key-value, search, relational, or graph databases.
• Software development experience with data-processing platforms from AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks.
• Comfort with data integration techniques such as messaging, queuing, change data capture, or data virtualisation.

Nice to have

• Experience with data warehouse methods and techniques.
• Active contribution to data practices and continuous improvement of data best practice.
• AWS, Azure, or GCP certification in data services.
• Participation in development or technology communities.
