Jr. AI Native Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, prototype, build, and ship AI-native applications and digital experiences for real-world use cases.
• Develop applications using large language models, generative AI APIs, agentic architectures, and modern AI development tools.
• Build RAG and knowledge-retrieval solutions with embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, and enterprise data.
• Integrate AI solutions with APIs, databases, cloud platforms, existing applications, and enterprise systems.
• Prototype ideas, test assumptions, and turn promising experiments into scalable solutions.
• Develop evaluation and testing approaches for AI systems, considering quality, accuracy, reliability, latency, cost, security, privacy, observability, and human oversight.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
• Strong programming experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or another modern programming language.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including application architecture, APIs, testing, debugging, version control, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience building with generative AI through client work, production applications, prototypes, internal innovation, hackathons, open-source contributions, or substantial personal projects.
• Practical experience with LLMs and model APIs, including prompting, context management, structured outputs, and model selection.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, semantic search, or vector databases, plus exposure to agents, function/tool calling, or AI workflow orchestration.
• Experience connecting applications to APIs, data sources, databases, and cloud services.
• Demonstrated ability to explore emerging technology and turn curiosity into tangible results, while understanding the difference between an AI demo and a dependable AI product.

Nice to have

• Experience building an AI application, agent, copilot, developer tool, or RAG solution using real-world or enterprise data.
• Experience with agentic architectures, tool use, multi-agent workflows, or multiple AI models.
• Familiarity with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Azure AI Search, Elasticsearch, pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant, or Weaviate.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud; AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor; or AI output evaluation approaches.
• Participation in AI hackathons, internal innovation initiatives, or open-source communities.
