Oracle and PostgreSQL Developer

Location: Remote; U.S. citizenship and an active DHS Public Trust clearance required. Headquarters: McLean, Virginia, United States.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers in Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Write documented SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL code for application requirements.
• Perform data modeling, normalization, and schema design for new and existing applications.
• Optimize queries and database performance, monitor database health and capacity, and troubleshoot reliability issues.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and support database migration and integration between Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, system administrators, and stakeholders; document database structures and procedures.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active DHS Public Trust clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Oracle database development experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
• At least 2 years of hands-on PostgreSQL development experience with SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and normalization.
• Familiarity with installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and security administration tasks.
• Proficiency with tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, pgAdmin, and psql.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, database migration, integration techniques, and Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database solutions such as AWS RDS Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Java or Python, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and data warehousing concepts and tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
