Director of Government Security

Location: Full-time onsite in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA; occasional travel to government sites, classified facilities, launch facilities, or partner locations may be required.

Salary: Denver: $175,000–$255,000 base; Long Beach: $185,000–$270,000 base, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the industrial security program and maintain compliance with NISPOM, SEAD 3, Continuous Vetting requirements, DD254s, security plans, contracts, and government obligations.
• Serve as the primary liaison to DCSA, federal law enforcement, and government security counterparts; coordinate inspections, findings, corrective actions, and required notifications.
• Lead security operations across multiple facilities and manage contractual and subcontractor security requirements throughout the program lifecycle.
• Manage clearance processing, indoctrinations, access control, DD254 administration, mandatory training, and security education for personnel.
• Collaborate across insider threat, physical security, information assurance, personnel security, and international security; support incident response and investigations.
• Hire, develop, and manage a growing security team while partnering with leadership, program managers, engineering, and government customers.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• 10+ years of industrial security experience, including demonstrated FSO experience on classified government contracts.
• Deep working knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DCSA processes, and related compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing security programs across multiple facilities or sites.
• Strong communication skills with government counterparts, senior leadership, and technical teams.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and build programs in a fast-paced, resource-conscious startup environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations for ITAR-controlled technology.
