Vice President, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)

Location: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States. The role is full-time and may require an in-person interview at a hirify.global location.

Salary: USD 220,000–260,000 per year.

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction of the GRC organization in alignment with Cyber partner organizations and the overall Cyber strategy.
• Transform the maturity of governance, risk management, compliance, policy, audit liaison, and cybersecurity assurance functions.
• Direct cross-business engagement, security-request intake, service prioritization, outsourced services, and supporting staff.
• Evaluate security risks for technology implementations across brands and business units, establishing accountability for accepted risk.
• Build stakeholder relationships, integrate business feedback, and drive an inclusive cyber defense mission.
• Lead staff development and the transformation, maturity, and sustainability of the hirify.global Cyber organization.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of leadership experience across cybersecurity disciplines, including security assurance, governance, risk, compliance, audit, and business-facing assessment and risk-resolution lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience leading external audits and regulatory reviews involving multiple complex business workflows.
• Experience creating and maintaining governance policies, compliance programs, security training, and board reporting formats.
• Experience developing internal testing and control frameworks for operational efficiency and compliance.
• M&A experience driving security evaluations and comprehensive risk evaluations.
• Experience leading functions and staff defending large, complex global computing enterprises and transforming and maintaining key security functions.
• Expert knowledge of risk frameworks such as COSO and ISO 31000; regulations such as SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA; risk assessment; and mitigation strategies.
• Knowledge of the cyber threat landscape and the ability to translate adversary motivations and campaigns into defensive strategies.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer engagement, executive briefing, leadership, social acumen, and business acumen.
• Experience supporting business executives and leading strategic direction across organizational and business lines.

Nice to have

• Experience working in multiple large, complex environments and specifically within GRC functions.
• Experience leading GRC functions in media, entertainment, or advanced technology.
• Experience building, maintaining, or transforming a risk management program.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
• Master’s degree in an IT-related field.
