Electronic Systems Verification & Validation Senior Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Onsite five days a week in Irving, Texas, United States. Required domestic travel is less than 10%. Relocation is available; US work sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Define testing priorities and coverage with machine system coordinators and electronic system design engineers.
• Develop test plans from machine feature requirements and execute integration, regression, and delta-content testing for RTOS- and Linux-based systems.
• Perform SiL and HiL testing, troubleshoot software features, document results, and analyze software defect-tracking reports.
• Develop product-testing procedures, bench capabilities, and automated test scripts for SiL and HiL environments.
• Support selection of next-generation test environments and tools, including laboratory solutions for liquid-cooled devices in electrical test environments.
• Collaborate with system engineers and cross-functional partners to review test results and improve testing processes.

Requirements

• Degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited program.
• Excellent working knowledge of dSPACE hardware and software, including VEOS, ControlDesk, and Automation Desk, with the ability to operate a dSPACE XiL environment independently.
• Ability to design, plan, and execute L6 machine-level software integration testing using product-testing approaches, techniques, and tools.
• Experience performing software regression and delta-content testing and documenting results for functional safety and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Strong data-analysis skills for reviewing test data, explaining discrepancies, and identifying bench issues or software defects.
• Ability to decompose complex problems, use checklists, and produce error-free test scripts and results.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration, and ability to present and review test results across diverse teams.

Nice to have

• Experience assembling and modifying test benches, including wiring and harnessing.
• Experience designing, developing, or testing embedded systems.
• Experience with dSPACE test equipment, Automation Desk, Opal test equipment, SiL, and GoogleTest.
• Software development experience with C, C++, or Simulink and strong Python scripting experience.
• Regular use of Git configuration management.
• Systems and requirements experience in the automotive or heavy-equipment industry.
• Strong attention to detail throughout the testing cycle.
