Development Chemist (Aerospace Coatings)

Location: Shildon, Durham, United Kingdom; onsite.

What you will do

• Perform laboratory work for task requests and projects.
• Develop new aerospace coating products to meet customer requirements, environmental legislation, and business objectives.
• Engineer and modify existing products, including formulation input into the site MRP system.
• Make decisions on production batch adjustments and release, raw material selection and substitution, and internal product specification changes.
• Advise departments, customers, and suppliers on formulation and material issues, and support customer complaint resolution.
• Support quality and industrialization activities, including manufacturing process establishment, while completing daily EHS, 5S, and company program responsibilities.

Requirements

• A Chemistry degree or relevant work experience is required.
• Ability to formulate coatings; training will be provided.
• At least 2 years of laboratory-based experience.
