Security Operations Center Lead (Onsite Role)

Location: Onsite in Springfield, Missouri; remote work is not an option.

What you will do

• Lead detection, analysis, response, and remediation for security incidents, attacks, breaches, vulnerabilities, and security gaps.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex security events and coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
• Improve detection capabilities through security tool tuning, rule development, threat research, and enhanced visibility across IT, network, and application environments.
• Develop and execute incident response playbooks and conduct post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to security policies, procedures, guidelines, regulatory compliance, and digital security strategy.
• Lead team development, coaching, training, process improvement, reporting, and small- or medium-scale projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level.
• 3–6 years of experience as an experienced practitioner able to handle most situations and advise others.
• 1–3 years of experience supervising and directing team members and using resources to achieve defined results within limited timeframes.
• Ability to maintain information security, integrity, compliance, and continuity while ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Knowledge of confidentiality procedures, secure data sharing, relevant laws, regulations, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience controlling access to servers, systems, and computers.
• Ability to analyze data trends, conduct current-state versus future-state gap analyses, and support change strategies.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, oversee activities, and communicate tailored resolutions or strategies clearly.

• Experience creating and reviewing reports for varied audiences.
• A change-oriented mindset with the ability to maintain performance during organizational change.
• Proficiency with standard office equipment, software packages, digital technology, and digital content practices involving safety, privacy, and ethics.
• Clear verbal communication and the ability to formulate plans, policies, and requests for action.
• Ability to adjust thinking and work habits appropriately to changing situations.
