Software Python Engineer (Billing)

Location: Remote; Poland, Serbia, or Cyprus

What you will do

• Build and maintain efficient Python backend features for the Billing Engine with the production team.
• Improve application performance and reliability.
• Define and integrate REST APIs.
• Contribute to architectural and design decisions for distributed applications and services.
• Improve delivery pipelines and processes.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of software development principles and the full software development lifecycle.
• Expertise in Python and significant experience with Django.
• Extensive experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with RabbitMQ and Celery.
• Proficiency in creating and consuming APIs.
• Understanding of modern CI/CD practices, observability tooling, and basic DevOps principles.
• Verbal and written English communication skills sufficient for collaboration with a globally distributed international team.

Nice to have

• Understanding of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agile, test-driven development, additional backend technologies and frameworks, system monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Experience improving and scaling complex systems.
• Prior experience with billing or payment systems.
