Junior Strong Python Developer (Python)

What you will do

• Design, build, and modify REST endpoints, including views, serializers, permissions, and URL wiring.
• Implement business rules in the service layer and keep database access in selectors and querysets.
• Develop and update Django models and PostgreSQL migrations with attention to query performance.
• Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including task decomposition, code review, output verification, and ownership of merged code.
• Write unit and functional tests, fix API bugs, and add regression coverage.
• Containerize, deploy, and troubleshoot AWS services; participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

• About 1–2 years of commercial Python experience.
• Python 3 knowledge, including functions, classes, exceptions, typing, and readable module structure.
• Practical Django experience with models, querysets, the admin, migrations, and settings.
• Django REST Framework experience with serializers, APIView or generic views, authentication, and permissions.
• SQL and relational modeling skills, including joins, filters, indexes, and PostgreSQL query optimization basics.
• REST API design knowledge, including status codes, request and response payloads, validation, and pagination.
• Hands-on AI-assisted development experience and the ability to explain tool usage and output verification.
• Understanding of layered and service-oriented architecture, monoliths and microservices, caching, asynchronous and background processing, and related trade-offs.
• Docker and Docker Compose experience; AWS fundamentals covering EC2/ECS or Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and Django deployment and configuration; CI/CD basics; and Git workflows.
• English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher.

Nice to have

• GeoDjango or PostGIS.
• Redis, Celery or other background jobs, or Django Channels.
• OpenAPI documentation with drf-spectacular and JWT authentication.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Observability experience with Sentry, CloudWatch, or structured logging.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs into backend services.
