Design Lead (Director Level)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor designers through feedback, professional development, hiring, performance guidance, and career support.
• Develop and communicate design strategy, vision, and roadmaps aligned with organizational and business objectives.
• Oversee scalable design systems and brand consistency across digital touchpoints.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, marketing, and business teams to create user-centered digital experiences.
• Lead design reviews, quality assurance, user research, testing, and data-informed design decisions.
• Present concepts, prototypes, and recommendations; manage project timelines, resources, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional design experience, including at least 3 years in a design leadership or senior design role.
• Expertise in UI/UX design with a portfolio demonstrating design leadership and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or equivalent design platforms.
• Strong knowledge of design systems, design principles, and design methodologies.
• Experience building and scaling design teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams in an agile environment.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including management of multiple initiatives.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, design research, user testing, data-driven decisions, design documentation, and design specifications.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines and experience implementing accessible design solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with design mentorship and team development programs.
