Vulnerability & Patch Management (Senior) Consultant

Location: Hybrid, Amstelplein 1, Amsterdam, Netherlands; work from home, the client, or the Amsterdam office.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle across cloud environments, primarily GCP and then AWS, from discovery and prioritization through remediation and verification.
• Operate and optimize the Vulnerability & Patch platform for vulnerability scanning, asset discovery, and enterprise exposure management.
• Lead risk-based vulnerability prioritization using Tenable One analytics and exposure scoring.
• Design, coordinate, and oversee patch management while balancing security requirements with high-uptime trading-environment availability.
• Track remediation SLAs, report risk exposure, and drive closure with system and application owners.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud teams, monitor emerging threats and CVEs, support audits, and improve security policies and standards.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of cybersecurity experience with a strong focus on vulnerability and patch management.
• Hands-on experience with Tenable One, or strong Tenable.io, Tenable.sc, or Nessus experience with willingness to transition.
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and common attack vectors.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, and stakeholder-communication skills.
• English and Dutch communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• ISO 27001 knowledge or certification, such as Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor.
• Google Cloud Platform certification, such as Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• Experience in critical infrastructure, energy, or other highly regulated or high-availability sectors.
