Laboratory Intern (Chemistry)

Location: Shanghai, China; fully onsite

What you will do

• Prepare samples through weighing, mixing, dilution, and dispersion.
• Perform simple, repetitive laboratory tests using standardized procedures under supervision.
• Generate laboratory data and support routine laboratory operations.
• Maintain work areas, tools, and designated equipment in a clean, organized, ready-to-use condition according to 5S standards.
• Follow SH&E procedures and participate in safety meetings, training, and safety-focused activities.
• Support implementation and maintenance of the Responsible Care Management System in line with applicable RC14001 technical requirements.

Requirements

• Major in chemistry, polymer, materials, analytical chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of laboratory terminology, equipment, procedures, and safety practices.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and/or engineering principles.
• Strong safety awareness, attention to detail, reliability, willingness to learn, and ability to follow standard procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of Cabot processes, products, and their functionality in customer applications.

Nice to have

• Basic laboratory coursework or hands-on laboratory experience.
