Hirify AI/Оригинал
TL;DR
Autonomous Systems Security Engineer (AI/Robotics): Securing drones, ground robots, automated vehicles, and detection systems across data center and critical-infrastructure sites with an accent on autonomous operations, sensor integration, fleet health, and regulatory constraints. Focus on building security monitoring integrations and AI agents, validating detection systems against live targets, and enforcing fail-secure controls across vendor-operated platforms.
Location: San Francisco, CA; remote applicants in the US considered. Regular travel to data center sites is required, and staff are expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD.
Company
Anthropic builds reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems intended to be safe and beneficial.
What you will do
Own drones, ground robots, automated vehicles, and other autonomous platforms used for perimeter patrol, incident response, and infrastructure inspection.
Build integrations that bring detections, tracks, telemetry, and fleet health into the security monitoring platform, including automation and AI agents for triage and evidence assembly.
Engineer sensing and detection for uncrewed systems, including sensor selection, site coverage, classification, false-alarm handling, and evidence-based handoffs.
Secure site automation through identity and access controls, network isolation, recording and data-flow controls, fail-secure behavior, chain-of-custody controls, and acceptance testing.
Define regulatory, privacy, aviation, spectrum, and safety constraints for Anthropic and partner-operated sites, coordinating approvals and local authorities.
Define health monitoring, lost-link and loss-of-coverage alarms, vendor requirements, live evaluations, and acceptance criteria.
Requirements
Hands-on experience engineering autonomous or sensing systems in the field, including drones, ground robots, automated vehicles, or RF, radar, or optical detection sensors; systems must have been selected, integrated, or secured for an operation relied upon by others and verified against real targets or runs.
Experience integrating vendor APIs, SDKs, appliances, machine telemetry, and sensor telemetry into durable platforms.
Ability to read and review code, design data systems for security tooling, and build automation using Git and code review, often with AI coding agents.
Hands-on experience with data centers, critical infrastructure, or a large hardware fleet.
Experience designing within aviation, spectrum, privacy, machine-safety, or similar regulatory and safety constraints, with evidence of the decisions those constraints drove.
Experience owning a domain end to end, including work with vendors, site operators, partners, and authorities, and operating systems people depend on daily.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, with a relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
Required years of experience correlate with the internal job level requirements.
Nice to have
Remote pilot certification, such as FAA Part 107, and experience flying beyond visual line of sight under a waiver or exemption.
Experience with counter-drone detection, airspace surveillance, or air traffic data systems.
Experience operating robot, drone, or automated-vehicle fleets in industrial, logistics, or data center settings, including fleet management, mission planning, and safety cases.
Experience securing embedded, operational technology, or robotic systems, including device identity, network segmentation, update control, and logging.
Experience with physical security operations at large sites, law enforcement or aviation authorities, or cloud, colocation, or GPU cloud sites not fully controlled by the operator.
Experience building AI agents or automation that replaced recurring manual work.
Culture & Benefits
Collaborative work across research, engineering, policy, business, data center operations, legal, site operators, vendors, and public authorities.
Flexible working hours and an office environment for collaboration.
Visa sponsorship may be available, with reasonable efforts and immigration-lawyer support for successful candidates.
Hiring process
Candidate AI usage is governed by Anthropic’s application-process policy.
