Assistant Plant Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Establish goals, objectives, procedures, and controls covering plant operations and staff activities.
• Direct, guide, and motivate subordinates to improve operational efficiency and achieve plant objectives.
• Plan and forecast requirements for equipment, manpower, materials, facilities, labor, and organizational structure.
• Implement methods for scrap control, manufacturing techniques, and workforce utilization.
• Manage customer relations, serve as a liaison, and help resolve current or potential plant-related problems.
• Recommend capital equipment, organizational changes, compensation and benefits changes, and employee training and development activities.

Requirements

• College degree in industrial management, engineering, or business administration, or equivalent.
• Eight to ten years of experience in supervisory positions at progressively higher levels, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with appropriate software programs.
• Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
