Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Remote (US); candidates must be U.S. citizens, valid green card holders, or have granted political asylum or refugee status.

Salary: $95,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own and expand automated test coverage across modernized and legacy applications, including keyword-driven suites and web regression testing.
• Design and execute API tests, validate data across integrations and migrations, and maintain end-to-end traceability from requirements to execution evidence.
• Debug and triage failures, distinguish defects from environment or test-harness issues, and drive issues to resolution.
• Monitor automated and manual coverage, create plans to close gaps, and develop testing strategies aligned with the technical stack and team capabilities.
• Present testing strategies, results, risks, and quality trends through dashboards to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.
• Participate in Agile planning and design, environment coordination, production verification, technical interviews, and mentoring of junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Expert-level knowledge of testing methodologies and the ability to optimize quality versus cost.
• Hands-on test automation experience, including keyword-driven frameworks.
• API testing experience using tools such as Postman or Swagger UI.
• Demonstrated debugging and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience managing test cases and execution in Jira with Xray or a comparable test management tool.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, valid green card holder, or have been granted political asylum or refugee status.
• Must be able to complete VA onboarding, PIV credentialing, and a Public Trust background investigation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tricentis Tosca or an equivalent enterprise automation suite.
• Experience with Playwright or a comparable modern web automation framework.
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or Windows batch.
• Experience with data validation and data migration testing.
• Prior VA or federal health IT program experience.
• Active Public Trust clearance.
