Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Location: Remote; U.S. citizenship is required for U.S. Government work, with an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Salary: $206,000–$284,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead development programs through the Systems Engineering process using MBSE approaches aligned with DoD Digital Engineering goals.
• Lead teams implementing rigorous MBSE approaches with SysML in Cameo/MagicDraw.
• Customize and automate Cameo to support multidisciplinary programs, architectural integrity, and traceability from requirements through deployment.
• Work with domain experts and software development teams to realize program designs and digital engineering goals.
• Provide mentorship and training to Systems Engineers on MBSE practices.

Requirements

• <hirify.globalong>Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.hirify.globalong>
• BS, MS, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Technical Project Lead experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SysML models in Cameo or a similar tool.
• Experience with software-intensive systems and open architecture.
• Experience leading teams, architecting systems, and working across the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
• Experience with Digital Engineering/MBSE, modeling and simulation, and rigorous MBSE approaches for DoD systems.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• 10+ years of experience architecting systems using system modeling tools.
• Domain expertise in Radar, Electronic Warfare, Acoustic, Antenna Apertures, Sensor Resource Management, Sea/Air/Space, Large-Scale Platform Test Systems, Cyber Physical Systems, or open system architectures such as UCI, OMS, and COARPS.
• Proficiency in Java, C/C++, or Python.
• Agile software development experience.
• Familiarity with government open architectures such as Open Mission Systems.
