TL;DR
End User Services University Co-Op Placement 2027 (IT Infrastructure): Rotating across four teams to build, support, and engineer desktop and trading-floor environments for Dublin and London offices with an accent on end-user support, infrastructure operations, and automation. Focus on diagnosing production issues, deploying hardware and software, developing PowerShell tooling, and delivering a capstone engineering project.

Location: Dublin, Ireland; the 12-month placement rotates across teams supporting the Dublin and London offices. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.

What you will do

  • Build, upgrade, deploy, and track desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, application, remote-access, and account issues for corporate and trading-floor users.
  • Work with Jira Service Desk processes and learn how requests are transferred between teams.
  • Learn and support Windows, Microsoft 365, Citrix, Active Directory, and market-data client technologies in production.
  • Package and deploy software with SCCM, write PowerShell tooling, and contribute to Group Policy and automation changes under review.
  • Complete and present a capstone engineering project that automates or removes a recurring task.

Requirements

  • Currently studying a STEM or IT-related degree at an Irish university and required to complete a work placement as part of the course.
  • Working understanding of PC hardware, Windows, and networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and VLANs.
  • Methodical problem-solving skills, including gathering evidence before acting and knowing when to ask for help.
  • Comfort communicating with users at every level, explaining technical issues clearly, and keeping people informed.
  • Ability to take ownership, follow relevant processes, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Curiosity about how trading-firm technology fits together and willingness to learn across several disciplines.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Ireland.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Active Directory, PowerShell, or any scripting language.
