EHS Professional (Energy)

Location: Hybrid (remote/office), based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada; frequent travel and work in outdoor/industrial environments required.

Base salary: CAD 84,000–120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead investigations of EHS incidents and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and report EHS performance metrics and provide recommendations for workplace safety and environmental improvement.
• Conduct routine and ad hoc EHS audits at operational sites, identify unsafe conditions and compliance gaps, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, track, and verify corrective action plans, risk assessments, and implemented solutions.
• Partner with Quality Management, Training Operational Excellence, and the global EHS Operational Excellence team to align EHS and quality initiatives.
• Communicate lessons learned, contribute to EHS policies and procedures, and promote open reporting and a proactive safety culture.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, CCOHS standards and best practices, ECCC regulations, and industry-specific regulations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in Enablon or similar EHS management software.
• At least 3 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in energy, construction, or industrial sectors.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in outdoor and industrial environments.
