What you will do

• Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news content for broadcast, web, social media, and other platforms.
• Research events and background information, arrange interviews, and gather information through reporting, attendance, and direct experience.
• Develop story ideas from assignments, leads, and tips, and pitch relevant stories to news managers and producers.
• Write and present reports while reviewing copy for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, editorial style, and formatting.
• Discuss priorities and editorial positions with producers and news managers.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
