High Voltage Power Electronics PCB Designer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, United States; expected to report to the specified location at least 3 times per week. Travel required up to 25%. Relocation benefits are available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Develop PCB layouts for existing and new traction inverters and other high-voltage power electronics.
• Own the physical placement and routing of PCB components, traces, and other elements.
• Create, lead, and verify layouts through design rule checks and design-for-manufacturability checks.
• Collaborate with PCBA engineers, circuit designers, system engineers, packaging engineers, PCB Design Release Engineering, EMC, Manufacturing, Quality, and other subject-matter experts.
• Optimize layouts for performance, power, area, manufacturability, reliability, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
• Develop ECAD library parts meeting PCBA DFM and GM resiliency requirements and create drawings for release.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Professional experience creating and releasing PCB designs.
• At least 4 years of experience in PCB layout design.
• Experience with the ECAD Xpedition tool.
• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or other immigration support.

Nice to have

• Previous industry experience in automotive power electronics and ECUs.
• Six or more years of experience in PCB layout design execution.
