Hardware Test Engineer (EEG/Medical Devices)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid work with approximately 3 days per week required in the Boston office. In-person office hubs are also available in New York and Paris.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus equity, PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and execute device testing in accordance with the quality management system.
• Create and document test plans, protocols, scripts, procedures, fixtures, and equipment for embedded systems spanning hardware, firmware, and software.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, hardware characterization, verification, and firmware unit testing.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, systems, software, design, research, manufacturing, and quality engineers to troubleshoot issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Verify compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and medical-device regulations including FDA, CE, and 60601.
• Implement test automation and process improvements to increase product quality and testing efficiency, supporting development from concept through commercialization.

Requirements

• BS in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of post-graduate professional engineering experience with a BS degree, or 3+ years with an MS degree or above.
• Experience writing detailed technical specifications and documentation, including requirements, test plans, protocols, and reports.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics.
• Experience with embedded software running on a real-time operating system.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and performing root cause analysis for hardware and firmware issues in electromechanical systems.
• Experience with Git, JIRA, and GitHub.
