In-house German Game Linguist (Game Localization)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; full-time, in-office work at the hirify.global Barcelona studio is required for the full duration of the project.

hirify.global provides game localization, audio localization, localization QA, translation, and media localization services for projects ranging from indie to AAA games.

What you will do

• Translate, review, and polish in-game and non-in-game content from English into German.
• Ensure translations sound natural, engaging, and consistent with the game's world.
• Own the linguistic quality of assigned work and maintain high quality standards.
• Collaborate with fellow linguists to deliver consistent, player-friendly translations.

Requirements

• Native-level German speaker is required.
• Excellent German writing style and strong English skills.
• Background in linguistics, translation, or copywriting, or equivalent experience.
• Genuine passion for video games and storytelling.
• Self-motivated problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Collaborative spirit and strong interpersonal skills.
