Cyber Security Architect

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; onsite role supporting a customer project.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement an upgraded testing network, including hardware and software, for virtual images, software libraries, and DevOps application services.
• Apply enterprise networking concepts across routing, switching, subnets, firewalls, and segmentation.
• Develop automation and configuration management solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain workloads across AWS or Azure and Linux operating systems.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure monitoring, and deep-dive troubleshooting using packet captures and centralized log analysis.
• Translate strategic architectural designs into standardized, production-ready implementations while collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance applicable to the customer.
• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations, with a strong emphasis on enterprise networking.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Python for automation and configuration management.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud workloads across platforms such as AWS or Azure and Linux operating systems.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Experience troubleshooting complex, multi-tiered systems using Wireshark, tcpdump, network packet captures, and centralized log analysis.
• Ability to interpret high-level strategic architectures and implement standardized, production-ready technical solutions with minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional Agile teams while enforcing architectural standards, configuration consistency, and documentation baselines.

Nice to have

• Experience with container orchestration and microservices architecture, including Docker or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Zero-Trust Architecture and defensive cyber operations principles.
• Ability to identify and remediate configuration drift across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, Red Hat Systems Administrator, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
