Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Remote (United States); must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Base salary: USD $110,000–$130,000 per year, plus an additional annual bonus.

Medicat, a Banyan Software company, builds MedicatOne software for college and university health centers, including appointment scheduling, clinical documentation, immunization compliance, secure student communication, billing, and payments.

What you will do

• Design and build integrations with external background check and drug testing providers.
• Design, build, and maintain back-end services and RESTful APIs in C# and .NET.
• Model data, write efficient SQL Server queries, and create safe scripts for schema and data changes.
• Improve service performance, reliability, and security through caching and background processing.
• Investigate and resolve production issues involving systems that process protected health information.
• Write unit and integration tests, collaborate with QA on end-to-end coverage, and contribute to code reviews, technical specifications, estimates, and product designs.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional back-end software development experience.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core, and designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Solid SQL skills, preferably with SQL Server, including schema design, query writing, and performance tuning; experience with an ORM such as Entity Framework.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic coding tools, including the judgment to review and verify their output.
• Regular practice writing automated tests and comfort with Git in a team setting, including branching, pull requests, and code review.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• A computer science degree with a strong grounding in theory and fuhirify.globalmentals.
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, or another regulated industry involving HIPAA or similar privacy rules.
• Experience at a small or mid-sized SaaS company.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing an older codebase.
• Experience with Redis or a similar caching tool.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with single sign-on using SAML or OIDC, or with payment integrations.
• Some familiarity with React or TypeScript.
