Middle Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (Kubernetes/AWS)

Provides infrastructure and site reliability engineering services for customer environments and cloud-native platforms.

What you will do

• Maintain platform stability and implement ad hoc infrastructure improvements across assigned customer projects.
• Evaluate and improve security, performance, cost optimization, resilience, and operational reliability with support from a Tech Lead.
• Participate in on-call rotations and investigate critical P1/P2 incidents, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Prepare runbooks and knowledge-base materials for L2 engineers.
• Handle day-to-day operational and infrastructure requests raised by customers.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience and 2+ years of production Kubernetes experience. Experience with Amazon EKS or other managed Kubernetes platforms, cluster creation and management, upgrades, and production workload troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and strong Linux knowledge.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including the API Server, Scheduler, Controller Manager, etcd, CNI, and CSI.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of Kubernetes pods, nodes, networking, DNS, storage, scheduling, service communication, ClusterIP, NodePort, Ingress, and LoadBalancer.
• Ability to debug production issues including CrashLoopBackOff, OOMKilled, Pending pods, failing probes, and resource pressure.
• Experience with Helm chart development, templating, dependency management, and values structuring; GitOps workflows; deployment strategies such as rolling, blue/green, and canary.
• Experience operating stateful Kubernetes workloads, Persistent Volumes, StorageClasses, CSI drivers, and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or other stateful services.
• Experience managing AWS databases including RDS and DynamoDB; understanding of backup and restore, scaling, monitoring, SQL, indexing, query optimization, execution plans, configuration, tuning, replication, and application-database networking and security.
• Experience managing applications on EC2, ECS, EKS, and Lambda, plus S3, SNS, SQS, CloudFront, ALB/NLB, and AWS WAF.
• Experience setting up and maintaining observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Alloy or similar collectors, alerting, CloudWatch metrics and logs, SNS, Lambda, and monitoring for Kubernetes clusters and databases.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and implementing security scanning such as Trivy in CI pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Karpenter, KEDA, and VictoriaMetrics.
• Familiarity with ArgoCD.
• Experience with GitLab CI.
