Senior Buyer (Love & Roses)

What you will do

• Develop short- and long-term department objectives, strategic sourcing plans, and initiatives to improve sales, profit, currency impact, returns, and markdown performance.
• Lead seasonal direction, range structure, price architecture, critical paths, and commercial range development based on fashion and customer trends.
• Plan supplier strategy with Merchandising and Design, including new sourcing requirements, trials, and late buys.
• Negotiate prices and supplier contracts, manage weekly trade meetings, and respond to sales performance and late buys.
• Build supplier relationships and appraise the supply base with Technical and Design teams to improve quality, cost, delivery, and future business direction.
• Manage, coach, motivate, and delegate work across Assistant and Junior Buyers while deputising for the Buying Manager or Head of Brand.

Requirements

• Comprehensive experience in high-level buying across multiple fashion categories.
• Proven experience strategically managing and developing a team of direct reports.
• Demonstrable senior-management experience with significant commercial P&L accountability.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, team development, analytical, and profit-focused skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
• Ability to travel as required for supplier visits and trend sourcing.
