IT Field Engineer

Location: Stansted, United Kingdom; onsite work with travel to various UK sites and occasional stays away from home for several days, potentially up to one week.

Salary: GBP £43,000.00 per year. The posting also lists GBP £36,000.00 per year.

What you will do

• Provide onsite and remote technical support to internal staff and external clients using Evolve.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents and service requests, restore normal operations, remove blockers, and escalate issues when needed.
• Install, configure, support, build, and prepare IT systems and devices for deployment.
• Guide and support 1st Line IT Engineers, prioritise tickets, allocate time, and collaborate with Service Desk and project teams.
• Deliver, collect, transport, and securely handle IT equipment and vehicles between locations.
• Support new-site openings and older-site decommissioning, including device deployment and other onsite IT activities.

Requirements

• Advanced support knowledge of IT systems and infrastructures.
• Experience with Windows OS, O365, Azure, FreshService, ITILv4, DNS, and DHCP.
• Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people at all levels of the business.
• Self-motivation, willingness to learn, and confidence in deciding when and how to say no.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive long distances.
• Willingness to stay away from home for several days at a time, occasionally for up to one week.
• Punctuality, dependability, and availability to attend sites at agreed times.
• Flexibility as locations, schedules, and site-visit lengths may change according to project requirements.
