Intern, Finance Data & Analytics (AI)

ING Wholesale Banking APAC operates from Singapore as a major international banking organisation serving companies across more than 10 APAC markets.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Power BI or Tableau dashboards for financial KPI, income, expense, RWA, and client reporting.
• Extract, clean, transform, reconcile, and validate data across reporting systems using Python, pandas, openpyxl, Excel, and related tools.
• Write and test Python scripts that process Excel and CSV data into databases such as SQLite.
• Maintain automation pipelines and develop workflows that reduce manual reporting during month-end and quarter-end cycles.
• Document code and workflows for knowledge transfer and support scheduling of existing automation pipelines.
• Participate in AI and digitalisation initiatives, including testing and documenting AI-enabled tools and prototypes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, including writing scripts, using libraries such as pandas and numpy, and debugging code.
• Familiarity with Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and basic data manipulation.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain data findings clearly.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or another data visualisation tool.
• Basic knowledge of SQL or databases such as SQLite and MySQL.
• Understanding of financial concepts, including income statements, KPIs, and basic balance sheets.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git or GitHub.
• Interest in AI/ML applications in a business context.
