Program Assistant (Disaster Risk Management)

Location: Bappenas office in Jakarta, Indonesia. The engagement is expected to require up to 30 days from November to December 2026, with a possible extension until 31 May 2027.

hirify.global is implementing the Australia-Indonesia Partnership in Disaster Risk Management (SIAP SIAGA) in cooperation with the Government of Indonesia.

What you will do

• Support drafting and finalization of Bappenas and BNPB’s Strategic Action Plan for the Pre-Disaster System and related disaster risk management policy documents.
• Incorporate inputs from government institutions, development partners, academia, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct desk reviews and compile policies, regulations, studies, and evidence on disaster risk reduction, preparedness, anticipatory action, climate resilience, and risk-informed development.
• Coordinate technical meetings, workshops, discussions, and stakeholder consultations, including invitations, presentations, minutes, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain document repositories, working drafts, comment and revision trackers, meeting records, stakeholder inputs, and final products.
• Prepare terms of reference, budgets, progress updates, briefings, and regular work-status information for Bappenas, BNPB, SIAP SIAGA, and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, disaster management, or another relevant field.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in disaster risk management and public policy.
• Experience working with the Government of Indonesia, particularly Bappenas, BNPB, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
• Ability to work effectively within a team, with creativity and problem-solving skills.
• Good time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, with a commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.
