Staff Product Systems Engineer (EV Charging/V2X)

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, United States; expected to report to the specified location at least 3 times a week. Relocation benefits are available for qualifying candidates under company policy.

What you will do

• Lead product taxonomy development by decomposing product targets into feature, system, solution, and API capabilities.
• Define requirements, interfaces, states, performance targets, architectures, and functional designs for infotainment, mechatronics, compute, and related domain systems.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering through use-case diagrams, activity diagrams, API connections, simulations, and testable hardware and software requirements.
• Support requirements, architecture, and FMEA development; allocate functionality to software and platform teams and maintain requirements traceability.
• Collaborate with software engineering, validation, UX, mobile, vehicle platform, infrastructure, and cloud services teams.
• Lead issue triage, root-cause analysis, architecture reviews, co-simulation environment definition, complex cross-functional initiatives, and a related systems engineering team.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of systems and software architecture, embedded software development, and testing methodologies.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded software, infotainment, mechatronics, or a related development domain in automotive, control systems, or a similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in systems, software, hardware, electronics, or a similar related field.
• Experience with DOORS/DNG, Confluence, and Rhapsody.
• Experience with agentic workflows, artificial intelligence, and AI-based optimization of processes and systems engineering problems.
• Ability to analyze unusual and complex issues and drive results in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Experience with Agile or SAFe development methodologies, CI/CD automation, and continuous testing strategies.
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and Behavior-Driven Development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, project management, planning, prioritization, execution, organizational agility, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to collaborate and influence effectively across global teams, functional areas, and all levels of a large organization.
