Media Communications Senior Advisor

Location: Rosemead, California, US; hybrid work with required residence and work in California. The role includes reporting to an Edison International facility for a set number of days, remote work on remaining days, up to 20% travel, field work across the Edison International service territory, and rotating after-hours on-call duties including nights and weekends.

Salary: $161,700–$242,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the strategic execution of communications strategies and measure effectiveness across the assigned focus area.
• Develop communications that inform and educate audiences while managing risk and mitigating crises when needed.
• Build relationships with local, regional, national, and financial media, including media coverage in Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Palm Desert.
• Lead editorial development, content planning, media pitches, blogs, op-eds, fact sheets, site copy, key messages, and talking points.
• Translate business goals and major initiatives into communications strategies, tactics, and messaging, while advising internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a Public Information Officer during Incident Management Team activations and support customers and communities during emergencies.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications within a corporate and/or agency environment.
• Ability to work and reside in California unless otherwise noted.
• Ability to work rotating after-hours on-call duties, including nights and weekends.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience with communications related to corporate finance and utilities, strong knowledge of the media landscape, and proficiency with social media platforms.
• Media relations and social media experience as a newsroom reporter or in an agency or corporate environment.
• Experience engaging financial media and strong financial and business acumen.
• Excellent writing skills for media and social media platforms.
• Experience with Cision, BusinessWire, or similar platforms.
• Experience with project management or media campaign management.
