Senior Staff Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Architect and scale enterprise security foundations, reference architectures, standards, and governance frameworks across IAM, authentication, authorization, cryptographic services, and data protection.
• Design and implement security architecture for large-scale distributed systems and secure access to business-critical applications, infrastructure, and internal platforms.
• Define security policies, authorization models, policy languages, and access management frameworks for consistent engineering implementation.
• Build security automation solutions and security platforms using modern software engineering practices, primarily with Python.
• Partner with software engineers, infrastructure teams, platform owners, and security leaders to embed security requirements into system design and development.
• Review complex system designs, establish cryptography and credential-management practices, identify security gaps, and drive strategic security initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 8+ or 10+ years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Deep expertise in at least one security domain: IAM; authentication and authorization including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, or federation; applied cryptography and key management; credential management; PKI; or security policy frameworks and access management platforms.
• Strong understanding of secure system design principles in large-scale distributed environments.
• Hands-on software development experience with Python and the ability to design, develop, and automate security solutions.
• Experience driving architecture decisions across complex infrastructure and platform environments.
• Ability to solve ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges through systems thinking and strong engineering judgment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence engineers, architects, and technical leadership.
• English proficiency is helpful but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and securing large-scale enterprise environments comparable to major financial institutions, global technology companies, large cloud providers, or highly regulated enterprises.
• Expertise in OIDC, OAuth 2.0, federation, access governance, applied cryptography, enterprise key management, credential lifecycle management, PKI, policy languages, or authorization frameworks.
• Experience building or operating enterprise-scale IAM, Zero Trust, or access management platforms.
• Understanding of intrusion detection, threat detection, or security monitoring concepts.
• Experience designing infrastructure platforms and distributed systems at significant scale.
• Ability to balance architectural leadership with hands-on implementation and technical execution.
• Experience in high-growth technology environments where organizational scale and system complexity evolve rapidly.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
