SIU Investigator - Hybrid (Insurance Fraud)

Location: Hybrid; CA - Rancho Cordova. Must reside in or near Sacramento.

Salary: $72,200–$119,000 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct insurance investigations and database searches to uncover potentially fraudulent aspects of claims across all lines of business.
• Analyze, monitor, and summarize technical information into actionable investigative strategies, applying critical thinking to complex problems.
• Maintain contact with claims, legal, underwriting, customers, public officials, law enforcement officers, and other external resources throughout investigations.
• Act as a fraud subject matter expert and liaison for business and industry partners.
• Apply rules of evidence and local, state, and federal statutes; collect and interpret evidence in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Identify cases for potential insurance fraud prosecution and submit questionable claims to the National Insurance Crime Bureau; adapt to technology, system upgrades, digital tools, and AI implementations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting information and facts and applying investigative techniques.
• Strong case management skills and the ability to manage work independently.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple shifting priorities.
• Influence and conflict management skills.
• Working-level knowledge of insurance and claim operations, including Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Workers Compensation products.
• At least two years of investigative experience, or at least three years of insurance claim, underwriting, or legal-related experience.
