Software Engineer (Clearance Required)

Location: On-site in a SCIF at Columbia, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD, United States. Remote and hybrid work are not available. An active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required before consideration, with no exceptions.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, test processes, test environments, and automated test capabilities for mission-system software across the full software life cycle.
• Develop and maintain primarily Python-based test automation and perform integration, acceptance, performance, load, stress, security, data-interface, user-interface, and systems-integration testing.
• Apply code-coverage tools, document test results, report and track software problems through resolution, and contribute to defect triage.
• Design, code, integrate, debug, and enhance software and develop algorithms, database interfaces, queries, and performance-focused solutions.
• Support installation, configuration, management, and enhancement of software applications, Linux systems, and connected network components.
• Collaborate with system, hardware, backend, frontend, infrastructure, and test engineering teams through agile ceremonies, reviews, and development process activities; lead teams as required.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph before starting; no exceptions.
• On-site availability in Columbia, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD within a SCIF.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, or four additional years of relevant Software Engineer experience as a substitution.
• Fourteen years of Software Engineer experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, including at least six years in software testing.
• Experience supporting software development and full life-cycle testing of mission systems, including test-plan, test-case, and test-process design; test automation; integration and acceptance testing; performance, load, stress, security, and systems-integration testing.
• Experience creating and maintaining test environments and automated test capabilities, using Python for test automation, applying code-coverage tools, and reporting and tracking problems through resolution using tools such as JIRA or Git issue tracking.
• Experience with software applications, Linux/Unix systems, connected network components, installation, configuration, management, and enhancement.
• Software development experience in C, C++, or Java; scripting experience in Perl, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with Agile software development practices.
