Machine Learning Engineering Manager (Core Ads Ranking)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $230,000–$322,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Define and execute the roadmap for foundational models and user understanding, balancing long-term investments with measurable milestones.
• Collaborate with vertical customer teams, horizontal signal teams, and infrastructure and platform teams on direction, priorities, strategy, and constraints.
• Oversee the machine learning model lifecycle from ideation through deployment, maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, and robustness.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain machine learning talent while fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Advance user representation and graph learning, sequence modeling across ads verticals, robust pipelines, and state-of-the-art architectures for foundational models.
• Lead initiatives in knowledge distillation, model calibration, and heuristic improvement in collaboration with downstream teams including Retrieval, Shopping, Click Prediction, Video View-Through Prediction, Conversion Prediction, and App Ads Modeling.

Requirements

• 1+ years of management experience leading machine learning-focused teams.
• 6+ years of experience building and scaling machine learning models and working with state-of-the-art machine learning models.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proven ability to train, evaluate, and deploy large-scale models across the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle.
• Experience with foundational models and user or content understanding.
• Strong machine learning expertise, strategic vision, and ability to collaborate with technical and cross-functional partners.
