What you will do

• Provide technical analysis, application support, and programming for the department.
• Lead solutioning discussions and translate business requirements into technical solutions with product teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional tasks, drive projects from initiation through delivery and warranty, and communicate design trade-offs.
• Work with architects to define the future state of applications and guide the team toward it.
• Lead architecture and detailed solution design, code reviews, testing, and quality ownership for scalable and extensible applications.
• Mentor team members and champion AI tools for SDLC and PDLC improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 10 years of experience, including at least 8 years of programming and 5 years of analysis.
• Complete SDLC project knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex application programming on iSeries using ILE COBOL, ILE CL, and DB2.
• Ability to lead system architecture and detailed solution design and collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineers.
• Ability to own code quality, perform testing, and participate in design and code reviews.
• Flexibility to accept changing priorities and multitask as needed.
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior developers.

Nice to have

• iSeries development expertise with ILE COBOL, ILE CL, C, and DB2.
• Knowledge of iSeries APIs, data queues, user queues, multithreading, journaling, and IBM iSeries library-based file systems.
• Deep understanding of interactive screen development.
• Experience with SQL and MQ Series.
• Experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day processes to improve efficiency and quality.
