Product Application Engineer (Marine Propulsion)

Location: Remote, based in Central Florida; 40% travel required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. The position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $86,500–$126,800 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

hirify.global is a global marine company whose Mercury Marine division manufactures recreational marine propulsion engines, boats, services, parts, electronics, and related products.

What you will do

• Provide global technical support to Mercury Marine delivery partners, boat OEMs, marine manufacturers, dealers, and customers.
• Support new product development, communicate product changes, and assist boat builders with marine propulsion system integration.
• Conduct BOM, structural, installation, sea trial, vessel personality, performance optimization, and issue-resolution activities.
• Define and resolve current product concerns, manage interim containment, and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform and document annual installation audits, resolve audit findings, and support integration of current products into new boat models.
• Support propulsion installation training, product improvement and engine/boat integration projects, new technology advancement, dealer meetings, and customer events.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or another technical marine certification with equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of marine engines, engine systems, electronic controls, system engineering methods, the marine industry, and basic vessel design.
• Ability and willingness to perform vessel testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with common software programs.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Six Sigma problem-solving tools.
• Ability to participate in team-based work groups and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and selling skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in difficult or unexpected situations.
• Basic project management skills.

Nice to have

• MS in Engineering.
• Knowledge of vessel performance optimization, naval architecture principles, noise, vibration and harshness principles, and finite element analysis.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
