Staff Software Engineer (AI Agents)

Location: New York City, NY or San Francisco

Salary: $240,000–$300,000 per year, plus 0.13%–0.24% equity

hirify.global is building an AI operating system for the industrial supply chain, including warehouses, manufacturers, logistics providers, and workers, with AI agents that automate manual workflows and improve operational decision-making.

What you will do

• Architect hirify.global’s agent platform, including the orchestration runtime, evaluation and observability stack, integrations with internal and customer WMS, TMS, and ERP systems, and reusable agent patterns.
• Own model strategy, harness design, retrieval and memory architecture, tool and MCP surfaces, and quality measurement.
• Build evaluation infrastructure with datasets, graders, regression suites, and experimentation tooling.
• Work directly with customers and operators in the field to translate operational needs into durable product and deployment patterns.
• Hire and mentor engineers while setting the technical and quality standards for the Agents team.
• Partner with the CTO, product, and operations leadership on the multi-year platform roadmap.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years of hands-on production work on LLM- or agent-based systems.
• Deep experience with Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models using PostgreSQL and modern messaging such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ownership of a non-trivial production agent system covering orchestration, tool use, retrieval, evaluations, observability, and cost and latency tuning.
• Background in at least one of vertical AI or AI-agent companies, forward-deployed engineering, or AI-native data companies; supply-chain, logistics, or industrial experience is an advantage.
• Experience leading 0-to-1 builds in early-stage environments, with comfort operating amid ambiguity and exercising high agency.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including customer workshops, design documents, and recruiting future teammates.
