Lead Security Reliability Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, Frisco, Texas, United States; another listed location is Eagan, Minnesota, United States. Work from anywhere is available for up to 8 weeks per year.

Base compensation: $118,400–$219,800 USD annually, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Set technical direction for security across application, cloud, infrastructure, and on-premises environments, serving as an escalation point for complex security and remediation work without direct line-management responsibility.
• Design and build controls across operating systems, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, cloud configuration, network boundaries, WAF, identity, and secrets management.
• Design and improve patching cycles, golden-image and base-image refreshes, remediation workflows, and security standards.
• Prioritize vulnerabilities and remediation using risk-based practices including CISA KEV, CVSS, EPSS, and SLA-driven burndown.
• Review fixes, mentor engineers, coordinate with security teams across regions, and collaborate with Information Security, Platform Engineering, application, and business teams.
• Own reporting, metrics, runbooks, standards, and escalation paths that make security repeatable and auditable.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, vulnerability management, or cloud and infrastructure security, including experience as a technical lead or senior individual contributor setting direction and guiding other engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep understanding of security principles, common vulnerabilities, and best practices across application, cloud, and infrastructure layers.
• Working knowledge of vulnerability management at scale, including prioritization frameworks, CVSS/EPSS, CISA KEV, and SLA-driven burndown.
• Experience with application and dependency vulnerabilities, infrastructure patching, cloud guardrails, WAF, network isolation, and identity and access controls.
• Multi-cloud experience across at least two of AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, alongside on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience designing and improving technical processes such as patching cycles, image or GAMI refreshes, and remediation workflows.
• Proactive approach to identifying and closing security gaps through automation and tooling, with strong judgment on balancing risk reduction against operational and customer impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across security, engineering, and business audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with all four major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
• Experience with AI-assisted or automated security tooling.
