AI/ML Engineer SME (TS/SCI with Poly Required)

Location: On-site in McLean, VA, United States. A US citizen with an active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

What you will do

• Tune neural networks, including LLMs, on custom datasets and apply results to specific use cases.
• Develop AI/ML models and ensembles, select suitable Python libraries, perform preprocessing and analysis, and assess model performance.
• Test, evaluate, and validate AI systems, with emphasis on LLM-based systems.
• Design and execute experiments benchmarking LLM performance.
• Leverage GPUs for accelerated computing and use SQL for data analysis.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active/current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• 15 years of related work experience preferred.
• Professional or academic experience tuning neural networks such as LLMs on custom datasets.
• Professional or academic experience developing AI/ML models and ensembles, selecting Python libraries, preprocessing data, analyzing results, and assessing model performance.
• Professional or academic experience using Python or R.
• Professional or academic experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Professional or academic experience with SQL, including common table expressions, set operations, aggregate functions, and nested subqueries.
• Professional or academic experience with version control systems such as GitHub and Jenkins.
• Experience leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing.
• Professional or academic experience testing, evaluating, or validating AI systems, especially LLM-based systems.
• Professional or academic experience designing and executing experiments to benchmark LLM performance.

Nice to have

• BA/BS degree or higher.
• Experience with Hugging Face Transformers and Hub.
• Experience developing benchmarks for LLM performance.
• Experience with cloud computing development and architecture.
• Experience with frontend web development frameworks such as Flask.
• Experience creating Python machine learning models for text classification and topic modeling using scikit-learn or deep learning models.
• Experience developing semantic-search applications.

• Experience communicating methodological choices and model results.
