APM Specialist (Application Performance Monitoring)

Location: Hybrid and remote work arrangements; the company operates offices in Malta, the UK, Italy, Austria, Serbia, Romania, and the UAE, and also collaborates with consultants outside these locations.

What you will do

• Develop monitoring dashboards and alerts covering response time, throughput, error rates, and resource utilisation.
• Analyze APM data to identify bottlenecks, root causes, and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with SRE and infrastructure teams to configure and deploy APM agents and collectors.
• Organize incident response and resolve performance-related issues, support requests, and escalations.
• Conduct performance testing to assess the impact of application changes and upgrades.
• Document APM best practices and stay current with monitoring technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience with APM tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, and Elastic.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, including web servers, application servers, databases, and caching layers.
• Experience with containerized environments and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
• Ability to communicate and write in English.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting.
