Senior Android BSP Engineer (Embedded Linux)

What you will do

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle for embedded Android/Linux products, from design and development through testing, debugging, release support, and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and platform-level components using C/C++ in cooperation with software and hardware engineering teams.
• Configure Embedded Linux and Android BSP platforms, integrate hardware interfaces, develop device drivers, and support new device features.
• Contribute to control system, digital media, and unified communications products used in conference rooms, home offices, classrooms, auditoriums, and enterprise environments.
• Investigate system-level issues across Android/Linux layers, including troubleshooting, performance improvements, bug fixing, and field escalations for new and legacy products.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, design notes, troubleshooting information, and implementation details.

Requirements

• 8+ years of proven experience developing, customizing, and debugging embedded software or firmware for Linux and/or Android-based products.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills in embedded or system-level development environments.
• Hands-on Embedded Linux development experience on ARM-based platforms, including configuration, build, deployment, hardware interfaces, and platform bring-up.
• Experience with Linux Kernel, U-Boot, Device Tree, and low-level platform customization.
• Practical device driver development experience, including optimization, troubleshooting, bug fixing, and adding functionality for display, power management, Wi-Fi, GPIO, or other hardware interfaces.
• Hands-on Android HAL experience and ability to debug issues across Android Framework and Linux Kernel layers.
• Good understanding of AOSP architecture, Android platform development workflows, and recent Android versions, preferably Android 14 or later.
• Experience with Git, Gerrit, GitHub, ADB, and Fastboot.
• Ability to debug embedded systems where traditional step debugging may be limited or unavailable, independently read electrical schematics, and collaborate with hardware engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, ability to work independently in a complex technical environment, and good written and verbal communication skills in an international engineering setting.

Nice to have

• Experience with Android framework services, Android Native applications using JNI/NDK, or Android system applications written in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with hardware-accelerated graphics processing, especially OpenGL ES.
• Experience with Camera, Display, Media, power management, or connectivity subsystems in embedded Android/Linux products.
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting and automation.
• A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
