Senior Java Fullstack Developer (React)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week, based in Lisbon, Portugal. Candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit.

What you will do

• Design and implement complex distributed systems across multi-product platforms using Java and microservices.
• Define and enforce architectural patterns, coding standards, and security practices across an engineering squad.
• Own the IAM strategy, including Keycloak realm design, Okta federation, and OIDC flow architecture.
• Drive adoption of SonarQube quality gates and Snyk vulnerability management across the team.
• Lead architecture discussions with client product owners and represent engineering decisions at senior stakeholder level.
• Mentor engineers and produce technical documentation, architecture decision records, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in FullStack development using Java and React.
• Deep expertise in Java and microservices architecture, with experience leading the design and implementation of complex distributed systems across multi-product platforms.
• Ability to define and enforce architectural patterns, coding standards, and security practices across an engineering squad.
• Experience owning IAM strategy, including Keycloak realm design, Okta federation, and OIDC flow architecture.
• Proficiency with SonarQube for quality gates and Snyk for vulnerability management, including driving adoption across the team.
• Strong technical communication skills for leading architecture discussions with client product owners and representing engineering decisions at senior stakeholder level.
• Experience mentoring engineers, producing technical documentation, and authoring ADRs and runbooks.
• Fluency in English at C1 level and Portuguese at C1 level.
• Availability for a hybrid model three days per week based in Lisbon, Portugal, with Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
