Software Engineer (C/C++/Python)

Location: Lexington, MA, United States; 100% onsite, within 100 miles of Lexington. The position requires onsite laboratory activities at least 4 days per week and potentially 5 days per week, including classified discussions, prototype development, testing, and debugging. Candidates must be local for the start of the assignment.

What you will do

• Develop real-time software supporting prototyping, organizational experimentation, and field experimentation of novel communications applications.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and evaluate software designs in laboratory and field-oriented environments.
• Perform multithreaded programming on Linux and real-time operating systems.
• Conduct benchtop testing and support prototype development and classified technical discussions.
• Prepare and share technical results and document work for other technical team members.
• Collaborate with onsite and remote technical team members.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific or engineering field.
• At least 5 years of development experience on a Linux platform, multithreaded programming, real-time programming, scripting languages, and testing and evaluation.
• Strong experience with C/C++ development or Python development.
• Experience designing software for real-time systems.
• Experience with multithreaded programming in Linux and real-time operating system environments.
• Experience organizing benchtop testing of software designs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical collaboration, presenting technical results, and documenting work.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Master’s degree or PhD.
• Experience with digital and wireless radio or communications technology.
• Experience with systems and communication systems.
